The Essence of La Burbuja
High in Miramundo, Chalatenango, at 2,250 meters above sea level, La Burbuja Natural Reserve is a private sanctuary created for one purpose: to help you slow down and return to clarity. Cool mountain air, quiet trails, moving water, and a forest that invites presence—without demanding anything from you.
Inspired by the Salvadoran classic El Señor de la Burbuja by Salarrué—where solitude becomes a space for inner growth—La Burbuja was born from a search for silence, simplicity, and a deeper rhythm of life.
A forest restored,
since 1994
What makes La Burbuja different is its slow and conscious transformation. Since 1994, this land has been carefully reforested and protected, allowing life to return season by season. Today, the reserve conserves 420,000 varas² (about 29 hectares / 72 acres) of conifer forest with patches of cloud forest, shaped by more than three decades of care.
Rivers, waterfalls, and marked trails weave through the property—creating a space where time expands, the nervous system softens, and presence becomes natural again.

A heaven for birdlife
La Burbuja is an eBird hotspot with 100+ bird species recorded. Birdwatching can be self-guided—following your own rhythm—or guided, for those who want help finding specific species and learning the reserve’s natural history.
